Grizzy, the main protagonist of Grizzy and the Lemmings, is an anthropomorphic grizzly bear known as the most formidable predator in his Canadian reserve. Convinced of his position at the top of the food chain, Grizzy claims the forest ranger's home as his domain, relishing in the comforts of modern appliances. However, his pursuit of luxury is constantly disrupted by the mischievous Lemmings, who never fail to stir up chaos and challenge his authority.
Appearance
Grizzy is a grizzly bear with brown fur and a light brown fat tummy. He is approximately 7-feet-tall (2.1336m) in height and wears a green locket which belongs to the Forest Ranger and a pair of sandals.
Personality
At home, Grizzy spends most of his time lounging and sleeping. When it comes to food, his favorite meal is salmon topped with his cherished YummyXL Nutella spread. He also enjoys experimenting with the spread, mixing it with other snacks like chips or even eating it straight from the jar. Grizzy is an avid fan of the TV show The Secret of Salmons, which he watches with great enthusiasm. While he adores fruits, he has a strong dislike for vegetables, particularly cabbage, whose smell disgusts him.
Though generally peaceful, Grizzy has a short temper, especially when his luxury is disrupted by the mischievous Lemmings. Their sole mission seems to be creating chaos and noise, driving Grizzy to hostility as he often retaliates by sending them flying off-screen. Grizzy holds a deep grudge against the Lemmings, who constantly interfere with his belongings, and he refuses to share anything with them. This animosity leads to wild chases down the hilly roads whenever the Lemmings steal one of his prized possessions for their antics.
In moments of mutual trouble or when working toward a shared goal, Grizzy occasionally sets aside his rivalry to cooperate with the Lemmings. For instance, in the episode Yummy Indigestion, when faced with an enormous supply of YummyXL Nutella, Grizzy and the Lemmings momentarily put their differences aside to share the treat, even displaying politeness by offering each other the first taste. However, this truce is fleeting. Once the supply runs low and only one jar remains, their rivalry reignites in a fierce battle over the last bit of Nutella. Similarly, in the episode Intensive Care, when the Lemmings fall ill, Grizzy shows a rare moment of compassion, taking care of them and even sacrificing his beloved YummyXL for their sake.
Beyond his gruff exterior, Grizzy has a softer, more affectionate side. He harbors a crush on the She-Bear and falls head over heels for her every time she appears. Determined to win her affection, he goes to great lengths to impress her in hopes of earning a kiss. However, his attempts are inevitably thwarted by the meddling Lemmings, whose antics disrupt his plans. This often frustrates the She-Bear, prompting her to walk away, leaving Grizzy disheartened and longing for her attention.
Grizzy is highly resourceful and quick-witted, capable of solving problems in almost any situation. He has a particular fascination with technology, including gadgets like 3D printers and scanners. In the episode Intellectual Bear, an accidental electrocution with a laptop’s CPU chip temporarily boosts his intelligence, symbolized by the dramatic growth of his brain. This heightened IQ allows him to comprehend and utilize sophisticated technology with ease. However, once the chip is removed, his brain shrinks back to its original state, leaving him confused and unable to grasp the advanced creations he made in his enhanced mode, appearing comically clueless.
